''Booklets and other (News)Paper Items''

A CAMERA TRIP THROUGH CAMP ATTERBURY. This small booklet depicts the daily life of the GI and WAC stationed at Camp Atterbury. It features multiple pictures of soldiers of the 83rd Infantry Division training for combat in the ETO. The booklet comes in its original mailing enveloppe and is named to T/4 Leon C. Weiser of Divisional HQ Company. Leon Weiser mailed the enveloppe to his stepfather Marcus E. Wickert, Kutztown, Pennsylvania.

This is a small Unit History booklet of the 83rd Infantry Division nicknamed "Thunderbolt Division". The book was printed for all the members of the 83rd Division. The Foreword is written by Major General Robert C. Macon, United States Army Commanding.
This copy once belonged to Leon C. Weiser
This is an original Membership Card for the 83rd Infantry Division Association 1947-1948. Sadly the card is not filled in with his name but belonged to Leon C. Weiser.

An informal unit history of the 83rd Infantry Division prepared by the divisional Information-Education Section. The pamphlet consisted of a large map of the 83rd's route on one side and a unit history printed on the other side. The pamphlet folded to approximately pocket size. The Map (Booklet) is dedicated to all officers and men of the 83d Infantry Division.

Great lot of Home Front Newspaper clippings collected by the mother of Leon Weiser, presumably for a Scrap Book that was never put together. All are WW2 period and some related to the 83rd Division, well stored for all these years and untouched.
Article from Leon C. Weiser's promotion to T/4 while in Camp Atterbury.
